Daystar Peterson, a Canadian rapper and musician better known by his stage name Tory Lanez, was found guilty of shooting American rapper Megan Thee Stallion twice in the feet in 2020 after a heated disagreement about their love relationships and musical successes.
On Friday, December 23, a jury in Los Angeles convicted the rapper guilty of counts including assault with a handgun, careless discharge of a firearm, and keeping a concealed, unregistered firearm in a moving vehicle.
Megan Thee Stallion and Kelsey Harris, her former closest friend, both testified during the trial, which started on December 12; Tory Lanez did not.
Tory Lanez has been detained as of right now, and his sentencing is scheduled for January 27.
