Below are the top trending searches in the most popular categories.
Tiwa Savage tops people and musicians trending list
Musician, Tiwa Savage made quite a wave this year when news of her leaked sex tape broke. The artist had earlier mentioned the possibility of a leak as she was been blackmailed. When the tape made its way to the internet, some felt it was a publicity stunt.
Whether in search of the tape or her music, it is no surprise that she was at the top of the search list in the people and musicians categories. Obi Cubana was second on the top people search list. The businessman threw one of the most expensive burial ceremony the country has seen in a while for his mother. The funeral trended all over social media and beyond forcing to search for the business man.
Other people who trended on the top trending people list include Sunday Igboho and Nnamdi Kanu, both agitators for the Yoruba and Igbo ethnic groups in Nigeria. They were arrested by the Nigerian government and their arrest made waves.
Baba Ijesha, a prominent Yoruba actor was also on the list. The actor was accused of defiling a 14-year old with video evidence. The case was publicised because of Baba Ijesha’s popularity and the foster mother of the girl involved, Princess, a comedianne.
Romelo Lukaku, Elon Musk, Omah Lay, Raphael Varane and Fabrizio Romano were also on the list.
