Managing Director, Sony Music Publishing Nigeria, Godwin Tom has revealed that top Nigerian artist Wizkid once took a loan for his career.
Godwin Tom, who once served as Wizkid’s manager in the early stage of his career and now works as the managing director of Sony Music Publishing Nigeria, made this revelation in a recent podcast interview.
During the podcast, which centered on African music in the global market, Tom explains the need for artists to invest in their careers. And while at it, he uses Wizkid and Wande Coal as examples.
He reveals that Wizkid at some point in his career took a loan to push his brand because he believed himself. He also states that Wande Coal did the same thing.
‘I know for example that Wizkid took a loan at some point for his career. Wande Coal did the same thing’, he says.
