A group under the auspices of Advocacy for Good Governance in Nigeria Arewa Group, has called on the security to get arrested the Publicity Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Abba Bello Oando in Zamfara state.
The call for the Publicity Secretary’s arrest followed the allegations by the Zamfara state chapter of PDP, alleging that the state Governor, Bello Muhammad Matawalle, has already perfected a plan to lunch an attack on its gubernatorial candidate in the state.
The group warned that PDP should tread with caution and not to cause confussion in the state.
The leader of the Arewa Group, Muhammed Abdullahi, in a statement on Tuesday accused PDP of trying to saboutage the electoral process in the state and put the state in a state of disorderliness.
“As a responsible group with the mandate to promote good governance in the country, it is also our responsibility as stakeholders to call on the PDP to prove its allegations levelled against a sitting governor.
” It is on this note that we urged the security agencies to investigate these allegations in the interest of the good people of Zamfara state,” the group stated.
The group therefore called on Zamfara residents to remain calm and not to allow themselves to be used by some selfish politicians.
Meanwhile, earlier, the PDP in a statement wrote that the Governor and his party are planning to lunch their ill-conceived ulterior motive by using hired thugs and the State Government-owned Anti-thuggery unit to cause bodily harm to our teeming supporters of PDpduring campaign rallies, especially in the State Capital, Gusau, and Tsafe town, respectively.
